I have two Sony D50s in my basement right now. One is an older D50Q with the IFB slot on it but it has a lot of wear on the tubes. The D50HTU is the one I'm using now and I get a really nice picture out of it but I would like to buy a switchbox so that I can control going inbetween all of my gaming systems (2x composite, svideo, component) with a touch of a button. A friend let me borrow his switchbox and 14pin CCU cable so that I could see if it would work.
So my plan was to pull the 'B' input from the HTU and add the IFB card from the Q. The card in the D50Q looks like the image in this post for the fullHD card: http://www.curtpalme.com/IFB-FULLHD.shtm I've attached the image from this post [http://www.curtpalme.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=123168] showing what the card in the HTU looks like. Note the cords running to the card from inside the projector. So simply switching the cards obviously won't work. BUT the inside of the Q has a board similar to the HTU adapter for the fullHD card; the only difference being it has twice the plugins going to it from the inside of the projector. So here is my question: Can I Frankenstein this board into the D50HTU (allowing me to control the projector through the switch) and will I risk damage to the projector trying?

Do you want an original D50 14 pin input card? $5 plus shipping, I just parted out a D50 with one in it.

That will fit right into the B slot...

It would fit but would that plug into the HTU? I have a 14pin card from the old D50q but I cant use it because it has the IFB plug (or whatever its called) on the back of it.
