Our Sony KP-61HS30 RPTV from 2002 stopped responding to any remote.
(You can still manually turn it off and on or change the volume, etc with the buttons on the tv.)
I have a copy of the service manual and it shows:
H4 board: remote sensor part #A-1372-934-A
It seems to be available from this sony parts site for only $29.95

Is this place reputable? Price seems low.
Do you guys think changing this will solve the problem?
Any other parts that could be bad? Any other ideas?

Are you sure the remote is sending an IR? Do you have a universal remote to try?

Mac's right, the internal workings (IR receiver) of any TV rarely fails, it's almost always a remote problem. Grab a $10 universal remote and try programming in the Sony IR codes to see if that works.

Yep, "any remote".
The origional sony, our comcast remote that used to work the tv, a universal I tried.
We've been living with this for a while now, I think it may be related to a drink my toddler spilled down the front
but not positive.

Normally I would test the 2 diodes on that board. They are protect diodes and would be the first to go. However if you dont have a tester, soldering tools and basic knowledge then replacing the whole board would be your option.
But, there is no way to tell you for sure that your problem is on that board without testing. If your gambling though then that would be the first gamble.

Let me know what you find. I too had this pop up on my set in february. I know it is not the remotes fault becuse I tried a friends with the exact same set and nothing. Mine does operate the DVD unit when I use the controls under the door, lights up. I an using the TV from the front panel now but I am unable to find a way to remove the display feature. I always have "Video 1"showing or the channel number.

What I found when I took the tv apart. The remote sensor is located at the bottom center of the screen. This leaves it vulnerable to getting wet if anyone sprays cleaner on the screen to clean it. It will run down the screen and drip on the little sensor board. Stupid place to put it. My board had corrosion on it. I received the new one from the site I mentioned but haven't installed it yet due to being too busy with work.
Hard to get to, but very easy to remove.
