hello.

just wondering... can an 8" machine drive 9" tubes? say for example; a barco graphics 808 driving p19lugs? given the 9" tubes were housed properly, neck pins matched and had appropriate lenses mounted? do the p19lugs need more juice than the bg808 can supply to have them running at their desired levels?

would be rather cool to see... a redesigned case would be required...

thanks

Hello

We routinely put nine inch tubes into Marquee 8500s, no modifications required, so I would think Yes if you get the tube pins right on the neckboards.

it can be done with a Marquee relatively easily. Barco is another story. Not sure about the chassis itself, but I think the magnetics are different for a 909 machine versus an 808.

no you can not fit 9" inside the 808
I have tubes in a holder from a Barco 1000
projector is built into the wall in the living room behind a screen from a barco retrografix 801
so you do not see much of it it looks like a split pack
