I finally decided to mess around with my pjs. I'm looking to get my 991to put out a picture. It will power up, none. Of the tubes turn on then after a few seconds it powers down and I get error 00 Fd flashing. I have a spare 991 that won't power on so I. Could probly use it forparts. Anyone have this problem? If someone would like to talk me through it that would be great. 361-446-2689. Roland

I think I found the problem. My blue tube is imploded! Is changing tubes hard to do?

Nope, instructions are on the main site showing how to do so. Bleed the excess glycol out of the other two tubes as well, search for that here on the forum as there are instructions here as well.

ok so i got the blue tube switched out and everything fired up! very bright! but it imediatly shut down when i attempted to move it a bit . it seems like i barely touched it and it turned off. now i get error code fc. anybody got a clue? the green and red lit up really bright and looked to be in focus with the lenses off. the blue was very out of focus and not consistent with red and green. it also was flickering and making popping sounds but i pressed the end button on the remote and the popping stopped.

It is possible that the neck board has a short in it, the V board has gone bad, or it could be something else. I posted a while back about the V boards having issues on the XGs, and I'm offering a repair service on the V board for $100 incl return shipping. You should send in both so you don't crack the replacement tube.
Email me at curtpalme@shaw.ca if you want to send it in.
Thanks!

This chassis was the very first one I'd EVER had to swap tubes on...and it was brand-spanking NEW and already installed on the guy's ceiling. The blue one imploded, too, oddly.
It CAN be done upside down, but you then have to factor in the chiropractor follow-ups, LOL!
Good luck...seriously. It is worth it. Lucky you have a parts mule, too.
Cheers,
John

It's buried somewhere. Basically it's $100 incl return shipping to upgrade the V board. Shoot me an email at curtpalme@shaw.ca if you want to send it in.
Cheers!
