Hello,
I know that these lenses (Dipper, 8"LC) are somewhere out there. They came from Barco retros and are said to have only the center focus. I there anyone how has solid data like throw or maximum screen size? Or a picture?

Best regards

Marc

I've got a few. They were designed for the retro cubes, I think the pix diagonal was about 50" max, or about 110cm.

Thanks for the hard data. But are these manufacturers specs or did you test these cubes yourself to find out if they are usable for homecinema. If so, this would mean that 50" is the absolute maximum. But if is manufacturers data, there is a hope. Like the 117-12 have specs of 1.8 meter maximum, but people have used them for close to 3 meters with very good results.
I would even use these Dippers in a project, if they have a shorter throw than my 117-12/24. They have 1:1 for the 117-12 and a 1.1:1 for the 117-24. Both of them have corner focus and resolve very good. Any experience on the Dipper throw? Would be nice to have a super super super short throw CRT alternative. I am sometimes jealous on these super dupa short throw DLPs. But only for the throw....!

And thanks to all the others for the conversion efforts. I only use Bible measurements:

No, I tested them with the cubes I had here. You run out of focus range with the adjustment screws at about 127cm.

I don't get the joke. I've been engaged once, never married.

Serial girlfriends? Now that's a different story. Mr. Green I've had more g/fs than data packets down a 9 pin port...
