Trying to get a lightgun setup going and was wondering if anyone has thus far been successful.

I'm open to pretty much any wild ideas like replacing a gun sensor with a more sensitive one, replacing the light gun lens with one that focuses the light more intensely, or building a torus screen so I can have a super bright picture.

Any thoughts guys?

I've been meaning to build that torus for a while now, but I keep getting sidetracked. Where can I get good material for a soft torus? I've been told the vutec materials can offer extremely high gain, where do I get just the material? As for the design, I'll just model it up in Solidworks to get all my dimensions-no excel calculators for me!

Thanks

I've done light guns on front projection. Works best in a dark room. I used 480i and 480p

What I'm using right now is a sega genesis, which uses a weird resolution.

It's an interlaced signal, but every other line is blank. I've got a line doubler, and I'll give that a try tonight.

I guess you would see those blank lines with every source of video signal, that's how 480i looks like Smile
