|
|
I see a Dwin 700 on ebay for a cheap price. Would this be an upgrade from my ECP 4100? and what new equipment would i need with it? I see it needs a negative sync? I'm using an HD Fury to convert the HDMI signal..
And its small and quiet which is perfect, I have a tight space. Also, It doesn't come with a remote... so does anybody have one?

The Dwin is somewhat similar to my Runco, same lenses and similar tubes (runco is p16lngs vs t180s). I have a 4100 with 9/9/9 07ms tubes in it and the Runco is in a whole different class compared to the ECP. Its brighter, sharper, and has better color. The only thing I like better on the ECP is the Chassis, which imo is a wonderful set to work on. However I would not want to spend the money shipping a 7" set.

well for $86 i'll take it. Just have to find a remote now. It says as is but i'll take my chances. It costs less than shipping a Marquee which I was going to get.

It's a sweet little projector, virtually silent, and tiny compared to most sets. I had one with color-filtered lenses, and the colors were just WOW. They don't normally come with filtered lenses so I don't know what they look like without filtering. Still nowhere near as sharp as an EM set like a Marquee, but for $86 go for it!

Yeah, i was going to go with a marquee... but i saw it weighs only 65lbs... I found a marquee on ebay for 296, didn't want to pay shipping, and not sure if it would work in the small room I have. Couldn't pass up a possibly elegant PJ. And something to convert to negative sync. Guess i'll get the 1020 Box to do that... i'll see if it works without it first though. Only saw one person on the forums here who might have a remote for it though :/ looks like a boat anchor without it. I'm sure I'll find another Marquee at some point. But I know... for $86! I couldn't pass it up.
