This unit seems to just be a nightmare for me and I'm actually regretting giving up my 1272q that i had. Since I bought this, from this site, I've had flashing issues and horizontal scan issues. Besides that, in trying to fix this thing for two years now, I somehow managed to turn on something, I believe Iris control (?). I have no idea how, but everytime a new source is selected, it flashes red green and blue lines like it's doing some internal convergence thing. that's great, except that it screws up the manual convergance I keep on attempting and it ends up looking like crap.
how do i stop it from doing this?

Thanks. How many manuals does this thing have? I think I have 200 pages so far. My apologies for my frustration. For all the ones I have found on the site and others in the past two years, this is yet another that had eluded me.

You can stop iris routine with simple press "exit" in remote control.
Then you must go in iris menu and check if you have start some timer or autoconvergence for any source.
Sorry for language.

Thanks. Figured it out with your help. Seems like this might be a good thing to use once I read up on it and understand it. Have you used the function? Do you have any opinions about it?

There's the iris on my projector but little use.
It's advisable to use it to make quick settings.
But after quick settings, it improves the convergence without iris.
