Hi
i have a Barco Cine 7 and it has been perfect for years and now there are no diagnostic LEDs or standby LED at all on the front. Have checked all fuses and are all good spoke to the guys in Belgium but they've got no CRT guys anymore.
Done some testing and found i have no 9V supply to the controller board disconnected all boards from the PS and still only 1.4 V at the connector on the PS that goes to the controller board. The main bulk of the PS seems to be running at 525V AC is this correct ? Changed out the regulator chip (SFH601-3) for the controller board but still only 1.4 V so i assume something must be dragging the voltage down. I have a complete spare Cine 7 with a completely blown power supply but all the boards and tubes are good. Am i right in thinking the controller board should always be powered or does this board regulate the PS voltage to it ? Any help would be appreciated Thanks

If you're interested, I have working Barco 708 SMPS at $50 plus about $70 shipping. The 708 power supply will work in the Cine 7 unit. That's probably cheaper than continuing to trying to repair it.

It sounds like you have multiple problems in the set.

1) THe standby supply is bad
2) You had an HV arc somewhere (or a shorted/imploded tube) that caused a failure in the HV circuit, or the arc took out the standby supply. You now either need more boards, spare parts or a tech with a scope and meter to troubleshoot further. Multiple failure problems can be frustrating, but it really sounds like that's what you have now.

Check the tubes for cracks. I'd guess the HV quadrupler on the power supply is bad. Try swapping it over, or see where the tick is coming from, that could be an HV arc, so be careful.

I'm guessing the deflection board is bad then. I've got those at $50 plus shipping.

I have lots of boards, so no worries there. Now I'd say your video input board is bad. You'd need to send me that one for repair, as they do differ between sets. I'd need the 762XXX part number off it, I might have a spare, but I doubt it.

Hi Curt
Part nuber is 7627665 have swopped it out for the spare but still the same but both could be bad ! could it be the SMPS causing all the problems ? or with the standby jumper in if the tubes are firing up does that rule the SMPS out ? if you think it might be that then lets ship one and hope it cures the problems !! Let me know how to make payment

Thanks again !

Just a thought ! with the standby jumper in does it default to a certain video input ? currently got video composite and component playing in although remote doesnt appear to work !
