Barco CRTs usually (always?) have G-2 connected on pin 6.

Some CRTs have G-2 connected on pin 2.

If one connected pin 2 of a non Barco tube to pin 6 to allow use of the non Barco tube in a Barco projector would the fact that G-2 voltage being on pin 2 cause a problem?

Is pin 2 connected to anything on barco neck cards?

TIA for the help,

Scott

AFAIK, this is done all the time. MArquee tubes in a Barco and vice versa. Pin 2 on a Barco is open as is pin 6 on marquee tubes. I have installed one Barco 180DVB in a MArquee and jumped 2 to 6 by moving White bias wire. You do the opposite for MArquee tubes in a Barco.
Lets have some Barco guys confirm .

Draganm, we posted at the same time.

You have to watch-out when connecting G-2 to pin six on a Marquee neck card as there is a few hundred k ohm resistor (if a non LUG neck card) to ground there. It will load the Marquee G-2 circuit and potentially not allow the voltage to go high enough.

It seems that isn't the case with the Barco neck card as pin 2 must be open circuit. Curt sez no problem there.

Only Mec tubed Barcos I think.

Most unused pins are tied to ground, in some models that is also case with pin2. For example in 1208 it's connected to ground.

If I remember correct it was same thing with my BG808s neck boards (originally Sony tubes).

So it's good to check first.

Oh, oh. Is it that some Barco neck cards have pin 2 grounded and other Barco models don't? I don't know which projector these tubes are going in other than Barco.
