Does anybody in Ottawa Ontario know where to buy UniStrut. I checked at Home Depot, they don't carry it or anything like it.
I picked up an M8000 with mint tubes this weekend and would like to get it mounted.
Chris.

Any major electrical supplier will sell it to you.It costs about $20.for 10ft or like I bought aluminum for $40. for 10ft It is used in many buildings to hang the overhead lights so thats why any electrical supplier will stock it
P.S spend the money and buy the aluminum

Chris before you run off to a electrical wholesaler call a few of the commercial electric installers in your area- they might have job scraps left over that will fill the bill for the price of a 6pack

Hi:
I had a hard time finding it in Toronto. I contacted the authorized dealer at unistrutcentral.com in Pickering. They can direct you to a local supplier.
By the way, it is about $40.00 per 10 ' length and the accessories are really expensive also.

I just talked to Bruce at the Canadian office:
http://www.ucci.ca/ucd.html
He was very helpful and will be shipping the product directly to me.
I mentioned that I was a small fry doing projector installations one at a time and he was more than happy to assist.

Home Depot carries it, but doesn't call it Unistut. They call it slotted rail, and it's in the electrical section, usually at the end of one of their aisles.

That's the key - it's not in building materials, it's not in hardware, it's in Electrical. They guys at my local home depot didn't know what I was talking about until I pointed it out on the ceiling, holding up their lights. Then they got it - "Ohhhh....that's in electrical!" I never would have thought to look there by myself.

during the move and cleanout of the old garage, i found a couple of pieces. the SKU on the barcode is 6 28139 00003 8. a HD sales associate should be able to punch that into the computer and find where/if stock is avaiable for that store.
but it's in electrical - usally near conduit and fish tapes.

Thanks for posting that. I tried one HD in the south end armed with all the information before your post and they couldn't find it.
I'll try another location that's a bit bigger & smarter, but at this point I just need a backup source for fittings.
I'm actually hoping to find some extra spring nuts as I'm getting the rails and other bits direct from UCC.

Not carried in any HD stores in eastern Ontario.
We tried that UPC and it came up in the computer but zero stock in all stores.
It's OK cos I read in the DIY ceiling mount link here that Boone Plumbing has it.

I got my Unistrut stuff from UCC and it works great. Quality stuff!

If HD doesn't have it, try a plumbing store or an HVAC supply place, as Unistrut is used to hang the big HVAC units in building construction.
