All,

I hope this post is in the right place.

I’ve been studying the GammaX page on this site and have a question. The last picture pair for before and after comparison appears to be a “fake”. The iris is smaller in the "with GammaX" picture, indicating that more light was shining on the subject. Is this “sharp practice” from the seller or a “mistake”? Shocked

It's the same picture. you're seeing MORE detail allowing you to see the iris as it should be.

Ah yes, I see and as these images are screenshots, no amount of gamma applied to them (with photoshop etc) will reveal the extra detail afterwards as it’s simply not there when the photo is taken. I get it now; apologies to the seller – just my suspicious nature! Embarassed

I was about to buy one but a couple of questions / observations which I would be grateful if someone has the answers to:

I think I’ll need a “box 1021” instead as the output of the GammaX is a male 15pin and my existing setup has only one male 15 pin plug (connecting directly into the rear of the HTPC) – all other connections are 5xbnc (to the G70). – Is the box 1021 functionally and electrically the same?

I use some wacky resolutions, refresh rates and powerstrip timings: will either box cope with whatever I throw at it in this respect without altering timings etc?

Thanks.

For my setup I run out my htpc into the gammax then into the projector which has a breakout cable for RGBHV. I may have a vga gender changer in there somewhere to make it work too.

I've had no issues with the gammax and powerstrip. It's like it doesn't exist in the setup. Of course the picture quality after it was installed was incredible. It was a good investment IMHO.

Yes. Designed by the same company in fact (X-vue).

No problems.
