|
|
I have a G90 with a saved, calibrated input for 1080p. I have both a VGA input and I was using a Sony PS3 to a Moome V1 card for bluray. Well, my son's PS3 went down, so I gave him mine and decided to combine the HTPC and bluray capabilities by updating the HTPC with an internal bluray drive and an EVGA GT220 video card with HDMI output.
I have 2 problems. Using the VGA output, I can't get control panel in Windows 7 to lock on 1920x1080 at 60hz, when I'm running 1600x1200 (75.019 Hz). It appears in the special modes, but when I select it, the resolution reverts to 1020x768. Further, in the screen with the slide to select resolutions 1600x1200 is the top resolution and 1920x1080 isn't listed, even though I've tried to add it.
Secondly, I have a V1 Moome IFB card. It worked with the PS3, but when I switch to input B on the G90 using the GT220's HDMI out I get "No Input." Further, I get the same error message when I connect a stand alone bluray payer, trying a 25' and 6' HDMI cable.
Due to the problematic nature of pulling the IFB card for either update/repair, or replacement, I'm not sure that a V2 Moome card would provide much more benefits than getting 1080P thought the VGA. If I can get the VGA working at 1080P, is screwing with the Moome card, with the additional expense worth it?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Tim

For me I've found that you need to go into the video card's setup (properties) to engage the hdmi out port, otherwise you get no signal. Sometimes it will autodetect and use the HDMI if the projector is the only video connected at bootup.

I tried switching from "Generic PnP Monitor" to "HDMI," didn't work.

Well, to answer my own questions, Moome and I think the chip in the IFB card is bad, causing the HDMI problems. V2 IFB board, here I come.
As to the lack of ability to display 1080p through the VGA input, I think it's likely the newer video cards don't have EDID data for older projectors like the G90. I'm not sure there's a fix for this.
