Guys,
I'm going to be retubing soon and want to dump my NEC/ISS moome HDMI video distribution to the stack and replace it with something better.
With that being said, I need to drive 2 G90's with the same signal and would like all of your input on the best way to go about getting the job done. I'm hoping to be installing as well a Radiance processor to put before the digital/analog conversion.
What do you guys think is the best these days?
Cliff

I like my Barco RCVDS05 switchers but in your case with G90's and all that money invested I would not use any of the Barco/electrohome/NEC/Sony switchers as they all are not that good and instead use a extron modern unit that is current. That way you will not have any problems with bad caps or failures that may effect the output

Ohh, Goody, Goody, I can watch this thread now because I was thinking the same thing. When I finally do my stack, then blend next year. Which makes it harder for me, I don't want to have to buy things twice. Whatever I buy should be able to Stack and Blend. I was thinking of the T.V. One 7100.
http://www.tvone.com/c2-7100-main.shtml
I think this does everything blend, stack, and gamma.
I'll be watching

I'm talkin' out my ass here, because I don't know what's best for a top-notch setup these days, Cliff... But, what about one of the newest Extron RGBHV DA's? Like the DA2 RGBHV? We used to use the older versions doing VR installs back in the day, and it was some good sh*t back then, even. We pushed signals like 1600x1200@120hz (for stereo) and never had an issue. We sometimes drove 75-feet of RGBHV snake with them, too.
http://www.extron.com/product/product.aspx?id=da2rgbhv&subtype=287&s=4
I think it's like a $700+ retail box, but like everything analog, you can find them cheap on fleabay. Here's one $200/offer...

Of course, you'd have to do all your gamma and such in the digital domain earlier in the video chain, which is better anyway... Say, a Radiance?
Source -> Radiance -> Moome EXT-HD -> Extron DA2 -> Twins

Cliff, do this, get two moome cards for the stack , then use the Lumagen's dual outputs.
Now heres the thing. You will only be able ti use the radiance calibration for one overall image. so Ken has to get each PJ as close as possible to each other As I am sure he can. then the radiance will calibrate both PJ's simultaneous.
Otherwise you'll need two radiance's or another lesser value VP with CMS fr the other PJ. I think calibrating both PJ as close as possible and then using the Radiance for the overall calibration. it really is a slick unit Cliff!! and i think they might be able to add individual calibration for each output at a later date. I think if more people ask them for this they will do it. They might have to give up other functions to achieve it but id give up 3D in favor of individual calibrated outputs.

Video chain? I hear white gold is the current style. Platinum is out this fall, and silver just looks cheap.

Nice now that looks like a good option! Thats what I like about the Radiance doing all the gamma right there.

Yeah but the "B" stock is half price. $3500 Depending on what this thread shakes out it might not be all that bad.

Yepp, dual outputs on the XS. So with a stack using the same calibration for both is fine. you would do individual calibration of the PJ's then fire them both up and then do a 11 or 21 point greyscale with the Radiance of both PJ's simultaneously. So the Probe would be reading both PJ's together and tell the radiance what to do, if using calman 4.
I then touch up using calman 4 Direct Device Control where you can adjust the parameters of the radiance manually right in Calman. Even you could do it Cliff
Call Lumagen and see if they can do a trade in of your DVDO

Fo Sho BIG DOG. I REALLY like how Craig has hopped in on the 3D gig with Lumagen and that is a wicked option as well.
Arli sent me a link to some Dallas chips so I'm going to go ahead and change those as well. I plan on pulling the puppies down from the ceiling also for a "full service".
Looks like I'm in it for the long haul!

Yep for 2.4 aspect just do 1920x800@72, hell the radiance XS+ might do that at 96 hz .
Craig would no more.
