Hey guys!

I am still around, but I generally don't post any more. My life is changing and I am moving more and more into vintage audio. I am collecting and restoring Studer and Revox gear now, and well as fixing vintage Reel to Reel and CD players on the Audio forums.

I still have my big Runco 990, AKA PG10 "Plus". It is still rock stable and throws a picture to die for. But I recently scrapped out the last of my NEC PG plus sets, since I couldn't cram them into Curt's car the last time he was here.

I am still getting work fixing and calibrating color critical CRT monitors for editing suites in LA, but honestly I am missing the big heavy sets less and less.

I have pretty much lost interest in Home theater and projectors. I enjoy my own, but that's about it. Life just.... changes.
My new interests are keeping me busy, and I still go out and body surf whenever I have a chance. (Have wetsuit will travel) Mr. Green

So all in all I am doing quite well, am healthy as a horse and I keep an ear in the forums from time to time.

Just thought I'd say hello, nothing has happened to me.... just changes, less time spent on the computer, and so on.

Cheers, all!

Marc

Quick, what's older, Marc, or the reel to reel? Very Happy

Been meaning to email you, I have a Sony TR-114 (?) that's yours if you want it. Call it payment for the rental of the space that the projectors are taking up Very Happy

Nah, it's not a TR 114, it's a mid (?) 4" Sony b/w TV, c/w AM Fm radio and 'dream machine' digital clock radio built into it. Works fine, the CRT is a bit soft, and the whip antenna is broken off.

Well, I have been around since 1964, the Technics is from the 80's. So I win!

I think I'll pass on the Sony, though.

Is that a 1506? I wanted one of those pretty badly in the early 90's!

I kept an RT-909 around for a long time -- it sure was pretty but I was never terribly impressed with it's sound.
The only reels I collect anymore are the Mitsubishi and Sony digital machines, maybe just because they're all so odd.

I pay so little attention to this stuff, but whats a good forum for vintage CD? I have a Studer A725 that just died Sad

Well, I can fix the A725...... I sort of specialize in them.....

And that is an RS-1700, auto reverse machine I completely restored for someone AFTER 3 shops ruined it. (And couldn't find the problem)

The guy was very happy to get that deck back! Made my day.

I dunno but that looks like a vintage DSOTM poster behind him and I can remeber when those came out as pull-out when you bought the album.
