They are coming from someone who knows all you have to do is say you can have a better/sharper image if you use these tubes and he will sell them.

It's a good thing I didn't spill the beans and tell everyone that Athan's Thomas tubes are better than the simmulation LUGS Wink The poor bastard wouldn't get a wink of sleep Laughing

Oh yea, $3,390.00 to re-tube a 10 year old projector. Sounds like a real smart move to me.
So in Cliffys case it's $6,780.00 to retube 2 G-90's. But that's OK. G-90's are soooo reliable these days Laughing

isn't $ 1130 a good price for LUGs anyway? How much are they from VDC or others?

It's a fine price and I have gotten a lot of tubes from Greg over the years. Now where they are really coming from I don't know, but they always are good tubes so I don't press Greg to answer many questions about his source.

This is for a G90? How many hours do you have on the projector? You can often get away with doing green only on the G90 the first time around if it's not too many hours total.

I put one of Greg's greens in my Runco 1100 and it is really sharp so I have no complaints. Cannot comment on the longer life but it is a sharp tube. Dialed in real nice.

I think a LUG is a LUG, but I have never seen a non Eisemann LUG next to an Eisemann LUG. Is his really better than a LUG purchased elswwhere? I don't know. Doesn't even sound like anyone knows his source. There are a few members that have strong opinions on Eisemann...

Since I haven't seen them, I won't comment on if they are better or worse than VDC. What I will say is what is a Boeing tube? Are they making their own tubes or do these pass some sort of QC for Boeing? If it is the latter, then wouldn't Boeing be selling a lot of near new tubes when they buy new Marquees?

I am assuming he is talking about Barcos not being able to do 1080p with standard tubes I just had a long talk with Roger Galvin and he says he has put a lot of VDC tubes in G90s and has no problem with 1080p/60 or 1080p/72.
