Hello everyone
got the 9PG set up at long last, when on 1080i through the HD Fury 3 the image was pretty much smack bang in the center of the raster and pretty much filled the raster too. It required no adjustment from me to centre it, but other resolutions are WAY out, some require shifting from the HD Fury and then shifting of near 100% in the required dirrection to centre the image within the raster.
Im pretty confident the previous owner has fugged with the pots up towards the top of the def board, h.posi, h.osc etc, and i dont know how to set these back where they belong.
When i plug in the Sega Saturn to S-Video, ( i had to shift the image using position by a fair bit, but that is noted above ) i have also noticed the image doesnt fill the raster, its smaller by a fair bit. My playstation does the same with composite or s vid. If i am to increase the AMPLITUDE control, the image obviously gets bigger, but so does the raster, and it would go off the tube face before id get to the size i get with 1080i.
My question with this is can i do this and run the blanking down to the image edges so it doesnt allow images from other sources ( such as the VCR ) to go over the edges, and will the raster do any damage going over the edges when it is so dim and has no picture information or do i have to live with the smaller picture with my PAL game consoles? ( The Sega master system comes up larger than all the others believe it or not )
Id have pretty much expected that if anything was going to be centered straight up, the s-video and composite would be!!
Thanks in advance everyone
