Anyone know how to adjust the pot properly? I have a meter, but not a scope.

It is no longer factory adjusted because I turned it, so I'm wondering how do I get it back? Does having it set too high effect the projector negatively? Although I'm wondering, if it's factory adjusted and shouldn't be changed, why make it user adjustable? If it is to compensate for source, how could one compensate for two different inputs on input0 and input 1? If the hdmi sources are all the same (signal=good), then why provide adjustment that is user accessible?

In any case, now that I've changed it, should I be worried? The reason I changed it was because the signal from my cable box had whites that were clipping, and I thought backing the contrast down might help, but it didn't make any difference to the image. I've tried three different cable boxes ( two sci-atl and a samsung) and there all the same The white level is clipped by about 5-10ire. I'm at a loss for how to fix it. Bluray player looks perfect. Any ideas anyone?
