Hi guys,
Im redoing a room in my house for a home theater, Its not the biggest and best that ive seen from some of you (especially kal's!) but its what I call a microtheater. Anyway! i want to make a frame for the screen using some nice crown molding. I want it black so it doesnt reflect light, however I dont know what to use to make it black, I was thinking about getting some spray paint and painting it flat black, but I am afraid it will reflect light, I was also thinking of using black cloth on it, but it may be difficult to clean. Any ideas? Also, I would like to know where I can get about 90 to 100" (diagonal) of Silverscreen material. Thanks guys!!
Jeremy
(when the room is done I will put some pics of it on here)

Get some smooth 2-3.5" wide lightweight base board (whatever size in there you like) and use spray adhesive to put black velvet on it.

Highly recommended:
http://mysticalley.com/berwick_velvetribbon.html
"VELTEX BLACK VELVET RIBBON
Completely waterproof veltex, velvet type, ribbon from Berwick.
2 3/4in x 25 yards per spool."
It was only $7.95 for 25 yds... I only needed about 12 yards, but I had to order 2 rolls to meet their minimum order.
So now I have enough for 4 large screens.
This is incredible stuff! After cutting it and gluing it, it's exactly what I was hoping it would be. And it sucks up light like a black hole... even with a close flash it shows pure black. Easy to cut, easy to glue. Worth 4x as much.

How does the Veltex conform to curved surfaces? Lets say you wanted to frame the screen with small moulding or picture frame. Will it wrap around it?

Clarence, that stuff looks great! I assume from the writeup that it is NOT self-adhesive. Any ole spray adhesive would do the trick? Ditto to Aubrey's question -- how about wrapping it around from the front to the side of the moulding so there's no visible edge?

It would certainly crease along a corner-edge of trim.
It is not self adhesive. The backing is a smooth plastic, like packing tape without the adhesive. Any craft glue will work.
