I need a file that can get me something other than 60Hz refresh...damn this is annoying!!

Do any of you windows 7 users have this working? DId you just point windows to an inf file and you were done??

Also of note...analog sound from the motherboard is great...I would suggest ticking the "dynamic compression" box of the AC3 filter...makes the sound much more punchy.

In a word, no.

There is no "simple" solution to getting custom resolutions working PROPERLY in Win7, lots of talk about this around the internet, best of luck and post if you ever find a solution. I've read about there being a solution, but it involves changing the registry directly, which I have avoided because there isn't currently a program to actually DO IT for you...

Besides using this: http://www.videoi.com/~pietro/monitor/

I had to use power strip as the ati doesn't do custom resolutions. nvidia has more control over custom resolutions for no extra cost but it also had issues "taking over" when power strip was involved.

I think Power strip was $30? well worth it to solve your problems!

Yes, I love the analog sound!

Uh, I think that dynamic compression will make explosions the same volume as voices. It's the *last* think you want to use; the dynamic range is part of what makes movies movies.

Unless you're talking about disabling it, in which case, hell yes, you want to UNcheck it if it's checked! Very Happy

try it...I enable it and the sound gets a lot better...punchier. Take the beginning of Mission Impossible when the music starts...without this setting enabled, the sound is a bit flat...with it enabled, the sound is a lot punchier.

dynamic compression usually sounds better on systems and speakers that do not have enough dynamic range ( or phase problems, etc), I am wondering if that is why it sounds better on your system.
