|
|
Guys!
I have a couple of Marquee VIM boards with chewed up BNCs on them. My 35 watt Weller soldering gun could not heat these enough to remove the damaged connectors. Does anyone here have the right equipment to handle this? I'll give $50 for skilled repair to each VIM, supply the replacement connectors, and pay the postage both directions. PM me if you feel up to it.

You can buy a 230 watt soldering gun for 30 bucks and do it yourself. then you have the tool for future use.
Available at a store near you!

tim while you are at that place a smb connector on both the vim and vnb, i will do that once i begin converting my 02p to a 03p.
there is a thread started by scott on these connectors, i still have to order them but will do that all at once with other parts not available in europe. (ad834 and bfr93)
downside to this is that they are 8 usd each and you will need 6 of course plus 6 connectors that are 7 or 8 usd each plus a special plier that will cost 80 usd.
i will start this project in 1 or 2 weeks and will post pictures and results.
i will post in the vim 02p or 03p thread.
if i can order in bulk i might cut costs a bit but it will require the vnb to be equipped with this smb connector too so i dont know if this option is feasible.
