OK, perhaps a bit of hyperbole, but I will continue to steer quite clear of it!
I can't really remember the last movie I saw on film, but it has to be pushing or exceeding 2 years.
For the last 2 years I've either seen movies on my theater's DLP or in my local commercial theater which uses (typically) well maintained Sony LCoS 4k machines (I did see a movie 3 years ago on an early 2k DLP in the theater and that was crap too).
So, due to location, showtime, etc, my wife gets me to concede and watch Get Him to the Greek a couple weeks ago in a film-based theater. Oh the horror!!!!. The film had 3 scratches which ran the entire length of the movie. Since I've been watching DLP and 4K LCoS, I'm used to things being as sharp as real life--looking like a window on the world. This seemed god awful soft in comparison like I smeared vaseline on glasses and watched it! The picture did not look like real life and as such called attention constantly to the fact I was watching a movie.
At this point, film can't die fast enough for me! I've got no desire to ever see something on film again!!!!

It was probably old, badly maintained equipment... What do you want?

Oh, my favorite is seeing all the pubic hairs on movies. What's that all about? how do those get in there when it's like the 2nd day of showing a movie? jeesh.

Actually not that old of a theater. But, that is part of my point. That is what you are going to get in most theaters! If you don't see it on opening weekend, it is even worse as it has probably been through the projector 25 or more times.

I don't categorically agree with this.
As an experiment I watched the same film IMAX and on commercial Sony 4K projectors (TDK). The IMAX on a flat screen had significanly more corner focus issues and was not any sharper than the 4K PJs. The IMAX is really only impressive due to the size of the screen.
I don't know if there are any 4K theaters around you, but you really need to compare flat screen IMAX to a well set up 4K machine--it will surprise you. IMAX still suffers from the fact that the picture gets worse every single time they show it.
