I bought a LED enhanced Chroma 5 about 6 months ago and I was wondering if this is what is being described as the Chroma 5 Pro. It seems to be as I have all the certs that the pro is supposed to have. Hope so but want to be sure. Thanks.

Not really. The Enhanced C5 is a SpectraCal product and its 4 calibration tables are written into the probe's EEPROM. The C5 Pro is a product from Tom Huffman/ChromaPure. It has a somewhat different set of tables (at least 5, IIRC) and these are in a file, generated for each serial numbered probe, that ChromaPure accesses, not written into the probe's internals. Same overall idea-increase the probe's accuracy with different display types-but different approaches.

As of this writing, the Chroma 5 PRO has 8 tables. See: http://www.curtpalme.com/ChromaPure_Chroma5.shtm

It offers substantially enhanced accuracy across 8 different display types:

• Generic LCD
• Samsung Standard backlit LCD
• Samsung LED backlit LCD
• Sony Standard backlit LCD
• Sony LED backlit LCD
• CRT
• Plasma
• Front Projection

Thanks, Kal. I remembered seeing mention of tables for Sony and Samsung regular LCDs as well as CRT. I wasn't dissing the C5 Pro at all-I just couldn't remember the total number of display types it's set up for. Smile

Thanks for the responses. So my next question is how do I upgrade my Chroma 5 or should I? I have the CalMan Pro software so I really don't need ChromaPure, do I? Thanks for any help. As always, you guys are the best.
