LOL, maybe...but thats not it. There is a class action suit in its final stages and just wanted anybody that has one to know.

Here is a copy of the suit. There is a fairness hearing scheduled for August 4, 2010 at 1:30 pm. You can object in writing if you wish but it must be post marked by July 26, 2010. The document pretty much explains everything.

There's also already an extended warranty on some models DMD chip. They're having a lot of problems with them also.

I bought 2 HL-R's (a 50" and a 56"--for the great room and master bedroom). The 56" was replaced under extended warranty with a newer model after the light engine went poof, the 50" is still going (5 years old), but I'm nervous that it's going to go.

I love the picture quality when compared to plasma or LCD (I don't see the "rainbows" everyone talks about), and it's quiet, but they had way too many reliability issues (even though I waited for a gen-4 set before buying).

Fortunately the Sony D50 in the main theater is still going strong (11 years and counting)--not sure what I would do if that went out--G70?
