Again, Amazon prices Blu-rays much like resellers priced SDRAM. They acted like it was the f-ing Gold market or something. Amazon already raised the price back up--oh, because its Wednesday? The day after any new releases? And I know this title had been out for a while. But, the point is increasing the price the day after new title release (Wednesday) is holding true.
Actually, if it is a brand new title for BD they seem to lower the price the day after to screw pre-orderers. Die f-ers, die! But for existing titles they are increasing them. LOL

I split this off as it doesn't belong in the found deals thread Wan.
Yes, Gattaca only stayed at the $9.99 price (65% off) for a few days. Like they (and we) always say, there's no guarantee as to how long it'll stay at a low price. Today is up to $14.99 (48% off).
Don't like that their sales don't last long? Don't buy. Simple as that.

It was originally meant as a joke on you because it was only hours after your post that a null condition existed.

You have to realize that the only reason I go to all the trouble of posting any of these DVD deals and other links in the first place is to help offset the cost of hosting and maintaining the forum. It's a lot of work, but when people purchase through these links it helps us and we do appreciate it. Curt hasn't had to pay for hosting for some time now. It's covered. Your 'jokes' that badmouth our affiliates only hurts all of us.

So, I should good-mouth them only? Praise them when its not deserved? Its not like I have stopped buying from Amazon through this forum.

Nowhere did Kal suggest you only "good-mouth" them Wan, but why bad-mouth them and bitch about it? What does it accomplish? I know... It's a forum.
But, how is what Amazon does any different from any other store (online or B&M) that runs a sale "for a limited time only"? "Prices subject to change without notice." Newegg does the same thing... They'll do a special that only lasts for a day or two.

So, your point is what, exactly? Yeah - Amazon adjusts their prices nearly daily on a lot of things... That's how they do business. If you don't like it, you're free to buy elsewhere, but you don't... So, you're issue is what, exactly?

Ok, I'll keep it to myself. And since Amazon sells a lot of things across the spectrum of material goods, I'll not say anything bad that I might be observing, but to balance the force I'll not report on anything good either. Fair is fair, no? Oh, no one mentions when I post deals that are good.
No more.

You're missing the point. SC and I are saying that Amazon adjusts prices like every other store out there. You for some reason think that they should (and I quote) "Die f-ers, die!" because they adjust prices. Neither of us understand your point or exactly why this is truly bad. They should all "die" because this sale was on for only a day or two and the price changed? You're serious about this?
People appreciate when someone posts a good found deal. People also appreciate when someone posts a warning or something to watch out for, something that is not a deal.
Your post here about Amazon is neither. I don't understand your rant.

I'm not sure I observe the same pricing conditions elsewhere that I've observed via Amazon. But I'll put it completely to rest.

I'll agree with WanMan (!) that Amazon adjusts their pricing very dynamically. So much so that I suspect it must be algorithmically driven. I know of no other place that I buy stuff from that adjusts their pricing as frequently as does the big A. And you'll get no warning before the price goes back up. They'll even change mid-day. SC mentioned Newegg, but you usually know when their special prices expire, and it's always at midnight PDT.
However, I just take that to mean that if I see a good price at A (or here), that I need to jump on it right away. I treat Amazon differently than I do other sellers, which reinforces WanMan's point. I know they have some really good deals, so I keep a link in my browser bar to here, so I can click through to them and give Kal the props. Then use my Amazon VISA card, so I get 3% credit on each purchase, which can later be spent at Amazon as well. Win, win, win.

Yeah, really. Wan rants even more often than he posts polls.

Kal,
yeah, that was a bit over the top. But I didn't interpret that as being directed at Amazon by WanMan. Rather that's how he choose to interpret Amazon's attitude towards customers by juggling pricing. I guess it's a subtle difference. I certainly wouldn't characterize them that way.
And I wouldn't want to encourage bashing, but I think Amazon is good enough to withstand the occasional criticism. Not only do they frequently offer good deals, and really good deals, but they also offer free shipping, when you can swing the minimum order. Since Deep Discount gave up on trying to offer good prices, even during their semi-annual supersales (which are now a joke), I've moved most of my Blu-ray shopping over to Amazon.
They've always treated me well over the years, coordially resolved the rare problem without hassles, and even went way beyond the call when I lost $40 of Blu-rays because my mailman isn't competent enough to put MY mail in MY box. Somebody else wound up with them, yet they replaced the whole order without question. That was most impressive, and greatly appreciated. And I then switched my shipping address to my office, so the situation wouldn't occur again.
I missed out on a fantastic deal they ran on the first N seasons of Lost on Blu-ray at a super-low price, that had a short run. But I'm not going to beat them up about it because I wasn't lucky enough or quick enough to take advantage of it.
They've got a great Wish List system that works well, and you can even leave stuff in your Cart to buy Later, if the price is too high at the moment. Every time you stop in, they'll tell you if it went up or down. That's handy, and I've bought a few things that way, when the price dropped to my purchase point. They also have one of the best search engines on any shopping site. I can not only find what I'm looking for, but I can do so quickly and easily. Whereas on many sites, the matches are so poor that I give up before I find what I wanted.
They're not the only place I shop online (I buy most of my hard drives at Newegg), but Amazon gets a good chunk of change from me every year, and I'd rate them very highly. I also really appreciate it when Kal or anyone here takes the time to bring a sale item to my attention. Thanks!

Hey no problems! They're actually one of my favourite online stores as well. In fact, probably #1 even though what they ship to Canada is fairly limited (books/games/movies only really). My experience with their customer service has been the same: Whenever have any issues, they always bend over backwards to make it right.
