|
|
Hi all;
I have an ASRock ION 330HT-BD. It has two video outputs, a 15 pin vga d-sub and an HDMI connector. My desired setup is to output from the HDMI connector to component inputs on a 40 inch rear projection hdtv I have (Toshiba 40H80) the component inputs handle 1080i with no sweat, I currently have an HP X280N media streamer connected to the component inputs running at 1080i, Video's look terrific etc.
Now with the new ION htpc setup my hookups are thus:
ASRock ION HTPC ---> HDMI Cable ---> HDFury2 ---> HDFury2 Component Adapter ---> Toshiba 40H80
Now I managed to get a 1080i signal @30Hz displaying on my Toshiba through the nVidia control panel, but to make a long story short I screwed it up by trying to change it to 60Hz which somehow put the ION graphics into clone mode. As I cannot see anything on either display while cloned, I cannot get to the nVidia control panel to expand the display versus cloning it as sits right now, plus it seems that the HDFury2 has somehow become my primary monitor when I plug it in.
If I unplug the HDMI cable, I get the full display back on the lcd panel, but it immediately refreshes the display settings and I cannot select the HDFury2 to change the settings on it.
Anyone have any advice as to how I can return the graphics to default as if they had never sensed the HDFury2 so I can start over again? Damn I was so close to getting this running, it is rather frustrating. Any advice would be appreciated.

Can you use the VGA output from the PC to see what you are doing?

Yes but when I plug the HDMI cable in I cannot see anything as the PC goes into clone mode and blanks the lcd as it doesn't support the resolution the HDMI output is set at.

Ugh, that's a tough one. Do you have a restore point you can roll your system back to from before you started playing with the HDfury?

You could install some VNC software and access it remotely. (or even windows built in if you want)
I hate when computers "auto do" things for you. Especially as they often get it wrong.

Does vnc allow you to adjust display settings? I know that M$ Remote Desktop definitely does not.

Ahh I think I figured this out. In Windows 7, hitting the Windows key + P toggles between displays, will be trying it at home tonight.
