I have finally succeded in getting what (right now...) is the perfect HTPC for me.

The goals are ofcourse to have
- good refresh rate for my CRT (right now running 47.953Hz, will try 72Hz when my fury3 arrives)
- bitstreaming (I know, LPCM can be almost as good, but this is much more PnP)
- reclock (to get prefectly smooth video).

New Arcsoft TMT3 (.170) gives you bitstreaming with the ATI5xxx cards. The new reclock (1.8.6.4) supports the ATI HDMI driver used by TMT3. Only REAL problem was to get custom resolution/timings from the ATI card. It is not supported by Powerstrip (and ATI isnt supplying entech with the docs on how to do it either....) and ATI dont have anything themselves for this. I created a small guide on how to "solve" this problem http://www.bredbild.se/edid. I am using a hdfury1 to my BG1209s/E. The reason for the need of custom timings (beyond of course the obvious 47.953Hz issue) is to have the picture both wide enough, and in the right position. Also longer horizontal sync width than what is used by default seems to have a very calming effect on my Barco.

If you havent tried reclock with TMT3 and perfectly (almost, reclock does fix small differences) matched refreshrate with you CRT, try it. It is a big difference.

I am ghosting this machine NOW! Smile
