I'm about to set up the NEC in my upstairs family room and have some questions about distances to the screen. I was able to pick up an almost new Draper Access Series V screen for a good price ($500) . This is a 106" diagonal screen; 52" H X 92" W which I'll be installing in the ceiling.
My ceiling height is 107" and with the 12" of available black drop the centre of the screen will be approximately 38" from the ceiling. Main seating will be approximately 16' from the screen.
Based on a screen width of 92" the NEC setup manager program says that the front face of the NEC should be 134" from the face of the screen. With the PJ mounted flush to the ceiling the screen center should be 39.8"(I need to keep it as close as possible to the ceiling to keep my better 1/2 happy).
My questions for those in the know are -
Does the distance from the projector to the screen make sense?
Should I be concerned about the viewing distance &/or viewing angle?
Anything else I should be concerned about?
Thanks!

Should be about 124" from a 92" wide screen IMO.

Wow! nice screen. I am not a big fan of roll away screens but the tab tensioning and the variable mask are great features. Which screen material is it the M1300 ?
I use a shadowbox clarion with the M1300 and it is great, very even.
I agree with Mark, (unless you have pattern wear...) NEC projectors are great but if you follow the recommended setup you will not optimize tube usage. I have read some good arguments that they did this to maximize corner focus but it really is not necessary unless you are doing high end graphics or static images.
