I'd be hesitant to pop the glass face off so aggressively from fear of cracking it.
One thing I don't think he noticed is that on the Sony tubes there is a lip for the glass to hold it in place so you don't need to stand the tubes on end to dry, a bit of tape works fine (A little tip from working in car windshield repair). The amount of sealant used to put it all back together was much less than I would put on. I've used those squeeze tubes on a car before, never again as they usually bust open and it's too damn hard to get the stuff out - caulking tube and gun from there out. If I were to do it again I'd use GE Silicon in black as it's 1/2 the price and also heat rated. I'm not sure if the RTV sealant I used reacted with the glycol but I have to do my blue tube over again as it's worse than before. I'd install fresh glycol in each and color mix instead of reusing just to reduce any contamination.
