These really rock for cleaning lenses. Thanks to my planetarium buddies for showing me these. Safe to use on C elements, coated lenses, front and back of any lens. They really take the grime off. I'm about to buy a box...

I've been using a good lens cleaner (from an optician) and disposable cotton tissues -- you can buy them at Whole Foods & probably elsewhere. Spray with lens cleaner first -- enough so it washes stuff off the lens -- to remove as much grime as possible *before* you rub it with ANYthing.

I still say you want to use a spray cleaner FIRST. You want to flush all the nasty scratchy bits off the lens surface BEFORE you touch it with anything.

There was this formula i got from the "A" site yrs ago... Something about Distilled Water, Alcohol, and a few drops of dish liquid.

I used it and it works great. I'll see if i can find it.

I can see a nice sunny day somehow catching those leaves on fire. I have a set of HD8's that I'm looking to do something funky with outside but nothing coming up so far. Getting close to the dumpster as spring nears.

Yeah, I keep thinking I should do some kind of science projects with my kids with my set of HD8's... something more constructive than a major ant-burner. Mr. Green

ok. admittedly I had to google that. interesting, but not exactly what I had in mind. I was thinking more in the lines of throwing some intense light thru them and casting images/silhouettes maybe, kinda, sorta. I dunno.
