just thought i`d share my past 3 days in frustration.

it all began a couple of weeks ago when i decided to look if my bellows were sweating.
upon looking.... yes they were. i immediately switched of the pj and took of the bellows.
the i ordered 3 new bellows and was in the search for glycol which i eventually found.
as of this writing i am still awaiting 1 liter cause i ordered to little.

in the days waiting on my bellows i peformed some mods.
the usual caps on the fgm hdm vdm and cva as well as the resistors on the cva vdm and hdm.

oh and i also started on the clm (did 10 caps or so).

and then there was the thing with the burn marks on my hdm so i had to order a few things.
22m0hm 2000v resistor 2kv diode and a cap.

when the stuff for my hdm came in i immediately put them on and wanted to try the green tube as the other 2 arent fully filled with the glycol.

and then it happened.
i got a h and v fail. Confused

i tried absolutely everything i measured every fet on every board, vdm and first of course but with no luck, everything looked normal.
then i got the odd looping leds on the clm so i was even more confused.

then i started cleaning all contacts and the ic`s.
still no luck.
i got a h and v fail without the vdm attached so it got me even more confused.
then i pulled out the vim and put it back in and the looping leds came back.

oh and i even soldered the old diode back with no luck either so i decided to take it out again and put the new 1 back in.

the i thought perhaps i should change out a couple more caps on the clm because 4 is not enough and it might get unstable.(that was a silly thought but i was desperate). so i soldered in a few more with no luck of course.

until last evening it hit me.

what if the pj just wont work with just 1 tube connected.
so i installed the other 2 with just the hdm and vdm attached so without the high voltage in the splitter and there it was.
no v-sync... i couldnt be happier.

the grid lines already appeared to be much better but thats i think mainly because of the new glycol, the old glycol had mildew in it and was absolutely a lot less clear then it is now.

i tested the focus and geometry and all works fine as well as all the menus.

and i thought i needed a new hdm and clm cause i f....ed up.

curious what curt would charge me for those 2.
marquee 9500lc ultra 2000 model.

just needed to get this story of my chest cause the last 3 days were a pj owners nightmare.

greetings
dennis

Hello

H and V fail likely caused by scan yokes not connected, this is a failsafe mode so tube faces are not scarred by lack of sweep.
