After watching MOON I starting thinking what other treasures have I missed just because they weren't main stream block busters. So let's see if we can start suggesting some of these charmers that have slipped by from the independents or just were overlooked by the general public that deserve to be seen.

MOON
Serenity
American Pop
Time after Time
The Apprenticeship Of Duddy Kravitz
Blast from the Past
Rat Race

I know some of these aren't that obscure, but you get the Idea I hope.

Sometimes a lesser known movie is known less by the community because only a small number of them found the movie interesting enough to report on. Sometimes I get carried away and report on them not realizing I am one of the biggest anomalies abound.

Wife enjoyed Melinda and Melinda. I am thinking of getting 'Let the Right One In'.

I'll think of more later, but this is on my favorite little-known films:

Free Enterprise

The premise is great, and there are some hilarious scenes with really funny damn dialog.

One of the bad things about Blu-ray is so many of these little know great movies are not available in HD. I really have a hard time watching an SD DVD these days.

That's funny - I was JUST thinking that looking at several of these suggestions I haven't seen and wishing I could see them on BD... October Sky and Red Violin both look like good candidates... Block Party... Not so much. Wink Actually, maybe for the audio it might be cool!

"Man on fire" is another favorite along with "The negotiator". As for the SD vs HD thing a bad movie in HD is still a bad movie... Wink

+1 for Man on fire and Deja vu

However Man on fire was filmed w/ a lot of gel effects, so HD may not make a difference.

Also.

Block party is well worth it for the audio... Jill Scott and Erika Badu do a duet that is GREAT. As well as the Fugees, and the Roots.

I tell co-workers I really don't enjoy a movie in SD anymore and they think I'm the biggest video snob in the world. I've also call DVD an obsolete format....Man does that get some dirty looks.
