Hello,

I'm recently searching for new graphics card because my onboard ATI HD3200 sucks on gamma correction with PowerDVD h264 codec (only codec which supports hardware acceleration by ati graphic card afaik).

so i thought about buying the new Nvidia Geforce G210 low end card. Gamma correction should work with this card.

but is this card able to put out 1080i over VGA ? Because i had an onboard Geforce 8400 first before i switched on ATI and this chip wasn't able to do 1080i.

regards

No reason an 8400 wouldn't do it either.

Mark AW figured out how to do 1080i with the Nvidia cards. You need to set it to 540 have a read here:

They must have changed this in a new driver update, as soon as i click interlaced, it automatically changes the active horizontal lines to 540.

and that will solve the problem with the "scrambled picture" under 1080i ?

When i had Nvidia Graphics card (rembered it was 8200 not 8400) i couldn't even check the interlaced box in driver menu.

and powerstrip produced a scrambled picture.

so setting the resolution to 1920x560 will solve all problems ?

I use the nvidia app in control panel

You can change how many lines it updates per cycle. You could prolly do some crazy stuff with that setting.
