I have a DWIN DLP Transvision 3. I have had it for about 8 years and replaced the bulb a few years back. Recently, when I went to power it on, the bulb flickered a couple of times (looking into the lens), but then the unit sounds like it just shuts down. I don't believe it is the bulb, because I have replaced it and I do see it try to start up. Does anyone know who migh repair this model? I understand DWIN is out of business and would appreciate any assistance.

What does this sentence mean? You have replaced the bulb since this current problem started? Or are you referring to when you replaced it a while back?

but not since this problem occured. The first time the bulb burnt out, it just went dark. In my current situation, it appears the bulb is trying to come on....I see it flickering, and the the unit shuts down. So I thought it might be something else in the projector.

Could be the ballast but could be the lamp. Could be the power supply. The easiest confirm is to try a known good lamp. Problem is the cost of a lamp. Age of lamp doesn't matter. A new lamp can be bad. Its very difficult to properly test a ballast. You can test voltages going to the ballast but you need to have an idea of what those voltages should be unless they are marked on the board. Its probably shutting down because the lamp sensing circuit isn't detecting a lamp fire.

Let me also add that this flickering is different then the flickering when the lamp is lit and the image flickers. This flickering could be the lamp strikes which could mean that the ballast is working.

Wow I didn't know diagnosing flashlights was so hard. When my flashlight won't come on I smack it.
