|
|
Hi,
My brother wants to buy a PS3, and I wanted to get some clarification before I tell him it will work on my G70. If he gets it I'm thinking of initially connecting it via the component inputs on the G70, and possibly via a HD-Fury if I get the urge to upgrade like usual.
So I'm hoping someone here has experience with this. Will I have any image problem connecting it this way, like fold over, cut off, ringing, etc? I know all of these problems can be fixed with various add-on boxes but it would be nice to know if I will have any problems to start, I want to be able to tell my brother what exactly will be needed to get a PS3 connected, and setup, and right now I'm pretty well in the dark.
Thanks,
Erik

I never had the PS3 connected via component, but I can tell you I'm running 1080p via the old DVI HD Fury just fine. The only artifact at all is just a touch of ringing on the left side of the screen. Not too noticeable. 720p and 1080i are both excellent and artifact-free.
I've never fed an analog signal to the G70 other than RGBHV from the HD Fury or RGBHV from an HTPC, so I can't say what the component inputs look like.

Well, considering that I'm running a PS3 into a much less quality 1272 at 1080i with an hdfury1, I'm sure your G70 will work very nicely.
