If you're talking about the CalMAN Enhanced Spyder 3, you'd have to ask them, I'm afraid. For an off-the shelf S3, it's essentially a throw-away item once it begins to drift badly. The same is true of the I1 Display 2 and LE. The Chroma 5 can be recalibrated by X-Rite, as can the I1 Pro (which is a spectroradiometer). I believe that a couple of 3rd party calibration software companies are talking about adding C5 calibration capabilities in the near future. For pro users, annual recal is pretty much mandatory. For us home-user DIY types, it's generally when you see the results changing visibly. You can lengthen the life of filter-based colorimeters like the S3 by keeping it in a sealed container or ziploc bag with dessicant packs and in a temperature-controlled environment when not in use.
