Our Cub Scout Pack is looking to purchase a small inexpensive portable PA System with a wireless microphone. Anyone have experience with anything along these lines that they can suggest?

Thanks
Dan

Cheapest = magaphone. Voice only of course, but that's the cheapest way to go.

Otehr than that, I've got a TOA 12 volt 40 watt amp with 2 mic inputs and one aux input. That will drive whatever you want, is the size of an under dash car stereo, and will run off a car battery.

Have you looked into the Fender Passport series of PA systems?

They have a Fender P-10 FEN Passport Portable Personal Sound System which is single Mic only (no aux sources, etc.) and about 40W. Runs for about $160 on Amazon (little high on the price range for what you get IMHO).

They also have a Fender Passport® 150 Pro Portable Sound System (our organization has one of the deluxe models with built-in CD player). Those run about $300, but you can hook up AUX equipment and multiple MICs. At 33lbs, it's not exactly something you'll want to pack along for a hike either (but it works very well for picnic/staff meeting type situations).

I picked up a Pyle PWMA230 unit to try out. We will usually use it for only an hour at a time and this one will run off of batteries for up to 4 hours. If it does not work as advertised I'll return it and check out the Fender.
Thanks
Dan
