Hi all,
Does anyone have service manuals for this TV? Or any insights?
The Sony Wega KP-FWS57 rear projection TV I bought 2nd hand has now, a few months later, unsuprisingly(?), died.
The ten flashing lights Sony has told me means the D-Board needs to be replaced...
I opened her up because she isn't a small unit and if the part was directly removable for replacement that would save paying two lumberjacks to move it to the technicians...
There are two boards inside, a main one and a tertiary board with a bunch of passive heatsinks. I'm guessing 'D' is the large, expensie to replace one...
I thought about buying another same model and just using the tubes (or boards) from this one when the other unit failed. But looking at the internals of this unit the TV looks built to fail at the board level much earlier than the tubes dieing (and consequently rediculously expensive to repair).
CHEERS!
