One time I was trying to fix the focus resister problem with the ECP4100. I follow the expert’s suggestions by putting 4x10M + 1x5 M omh resisters (rated @ 2 Watt) together. However, the resisters are getting so hot that it melts the silicon and eventually burn out. I have tried a few times and give up! I also tried to replace the old G2 board with the new one (no resister) but didn’t work out.
Now I have an ECP 4500 with 07MS tubes. But the blue tube face has a burn mark on it. I can see the color difference when projected on the screen. Can I swap the 07MS with the SD187 on the ECP4500? I check the neck boards between the 2 and they are not exactly the same.

The old 4100 has good tubes but more trouble with the electronic. The new 4500 with newer electronic but burn tube face (only blue is no good, green and red are fine).
Which one should I fix? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
