I predict a drug overdose.
I read online last night that he has requested that no autopsy is to be done? Suspicious...

that does seem odd. but doesn't a family member have to approve autopsies? or if the police think it's suspicious could they require it?

That combined with the flu could certainly bring on a heart attack

The Daily beast agrees....
http://www.thedailybeast.com/blogs-and-stories/2009-12-21/brittanys-spaced-out-world/?cid=sexybeast:mainpromo1
Virtually everyone I spoke with who knew her—none of whom would allow their names to be used—suggested that it was a given that she had a drug problem, involving both heroin and cocaine, though none admitted to directly seeing her use or abuse narcotics. “She had too many drugs and too little food,” said a makeup artist who had worked with her, adding that she sometimes “nodded off” in front of her.
“She was a space cadet most of the time when I saw her,” added the studio executive. Others echoed that privately.
Murphy had been dogged by such rumors for years, even feeling it necessary, in 2005, to make a statement about cocaine following a big weight loss: "I have never tried it in my entire life. I've never even seen it. I am also way too high-strung. I can't even take a Sudafed. Can you imagine? My God. I think my heart would explode."

Bummer. Looking at IMDB, I see she was in five movies that are currently either in pre- or post-production. That's a lot of work. I see she was also in a lot movies I didn't even know about.
My wife said she was likely anorexic, and if there was heroin and coke on top of that, then she was a heart attack waiting to happen.
I'd imagine if her husband/family told officials Brittany was anorexic and/or a drug user, and there was medical history to back it up, no autopsy would be necessary. I think there would have to be something suspicious for the district attorney to order an autopsy.

Rumor has it the husband is also an addict. so the refusal of the autopsy could be to avoid criminal charges...

I swear that this whole 'I'm a celebrity, shield me from the world' mentality is not doing anyone a world of good. From Elvis to Michael Jackson to this chick (who I'm not familiar with at all), why can't celebrities live in a normal world? Whether it's their doctors or personal assistants getting them prescription (or non) drugs, seems like too many people know about addictions, but shield these people from the world so they are not exposed for the mess that they are.
I know that apparently more than one celeb has said that they appreciate coming to Vancouver to rehearse/shoot a movie/relax, as most people leave them alone.

Have you ever seen an episode of Entourage? That lifestyle is wild and it leads to a disconnect from the "real" world....

Exactly. Curt, I know what you're saying, but I don't know that most of them are that "shielded" - not any more so than would we be, any way. There's a reason they call LA "la la land". These celebs do not have normal lives, and it's not the "real world" to them like it is to us. They have a lot of money, large blocks of free time when they're not working on a project, and they are constantly invited parties and social events... Note once a month or even once a week like most of us are used to... Almost every day. Heck, parties are practically part of the job. So, money, time, and parties. Throw in drugs, and it is NOT a good combination.
Now, I'm not excusing any of them... They don't HAVE to party, and everybody knows coke and H are bad for you. But, once you're hooked... That's where the time and money thing comes into play.
I'm sure they do like going to Vancouver... I'm sure anywhere outside LA or NYC is like a vacation in that they don't necessarily have something to do or somewhere to be CONSTANTLY like when they're at home.

Well, when you have guys like Paul Allen in Seattle (a celeb, but not in the movies, he's Microsoft) telling mere mortals that you can't look him in the eye, I give him a big 'Eff You'
I've met a few celebs, as have most of us probably here. Some were super nice (Herbie Hancock), others were Aholes (David Lee Roth.
Me, I'm just a shitdisturber..
