hey guys i have a sony 1252 and recently the blue image seems to be shifting about a foot or so too the left every now and again, sometimes it stays there and sometimes it just corrects itself and goes back to normal. Turning it on and off doesnt neccessarily fix it either.
Sometimes giving the unit a slight tap can correct the picture but it oftens gos back to being out.

What can i do to fix this problem if anything?? Im told it may be a dry solder joint on one of the boards....does anyone know exactly which board it would be or even better which joints are known for problems maybe? Or should i be looking for a replacement board.

Any help much appreciated.

Cheers
Matty

THE convergence/vertical board is bad. I just had that on a 1252 the other day. Haven't found the solder joint yet, but that's what it is, flexing the board kicks it in and out. I've got spare boards if you want a working one.

Cheers curt, whats a working board worth? Im in Perth, Western Australia, but shouldnt be much to post it anyways....
Might be easier to grab a working one rather than spend hours upon hours with a soldering iron??
