|
|
I posted earlier that on my Macbook Pro ColorHCFR doesn't see my Eye-one display2. I've been pretty disappointed that no one has jumped in to even tell me if that's to be expected, and the only one who has posted seems to think that the Mac version of software doesn't work well anyway.
So my follow-up question is will it work if I run windows on my Mac through parallels or bootcamp? I haven't had reason to get either yet but if it allow me to set up my monitors it would be worth it.
On the other hand I don't want to go to that trouble just to end up in the same boat again watching this forum everyday hoping someone will save my butt or tell me I just wasted a bunch of time and money.

Athanasios,
Thanks for the info.
No I didn't load form the disk, I just downloaded the software since it was more current.
Do you think that would make a difference?
I was confused by the instructions in the ColorHCFR website to load the ColorHCFR into the same directory as the eye-one software.
That sounded like PC talk to me ( maybe I'm wrong) , so I just put the ColorHCFR app into my applications folder while my eye-one match app is actually in a folder I created for all the software that comes with the Eye-one.
Do you have another idea about what I should do. I would much rather just keep using the Mac without windows software if it could work.
Have you tried that?

Why not put the HFCR application into the folder that has the eyeone software? Maybe it's PC talk but some times software can only see things in thier working directory or folder.
I would certainly try that before loading windows on my mac. I don't think I ever want to load windows on my mac (yuk.)
I still have a pentium II notebook with a dead battery that still works with a AC adapter that does nothing but HFCR but if it keeps windows off my mac it's well worth having.

Actually windows with boot camp works really good. only problem i had was I allocated to little HD space to the windows side, and once its done you can not increase it. I wish they would add that to bootcamp. So i got parallels and that also works but not as fast as bootcamp. Also some hardware devices need to be configured in parallels even if you did it via windows.
If you have a copy of windows and dont have to pay for it use bootcamp but put at least 20g of Drive space.
I should play with the HCFR Mac version a bit, I have Calman and like it much better , but then again PC based.

Put the ColorHCFR into the same folder as the the Eye-one.
Still doesn't show up.
Under configuration my only choices are HCFR sensor , Spyder 2, Spyder 3 and virtual sensor.
I looked into loading it from my own disk but its the same installer as I downloaded. I did do a second install from the disk as well but no change.
What is the virtual sensor?
