i have a local store in my area that does calibrations on projectors. was wondering if i had a professional isp calibration if that would eliminate the need for me using spears and muncil hd benchmarks ,or dve hd bacis. would i play with those disks and tune up the picture b4 after the company is dun with the isp calibration

When you say ISP, you probably mean ISF (Imaging Science Foundation).

You should ask them what they due during a "calibration". It means different things to different people.

A full greyscale and colour calibration should be done. It would include all the things that I show how to do in my GREYSCALE & COLOUR CALIBRATION FOR DUMMIES guide here: https://www.curtpalme.com/forum_archived/viewtopic.php@t=10457.html

You calibrate properly only using a test disc like the ones you mentioned. You also need a meter.
