I'm assuming this was one of the longbows? If so, he took a significant hit on the selling price...

considering it was posted under "televisions" how many people never even saw it? Considering the guy wasn't smart enough to list it in the right section he's lucky to even get $750. I hope someone who can appreciate it won.

Why would that even matter that much? I NEVER - and I literally mean NEVER - browse by category. I search. Doesn't everybody? If I were looking for a Marquee, I'd search for "marquee (electrohome, vdc)" or the like, and it wouldn't matter what category it was in. The damn thing could be listed in the lingerie category and I'd find it!

In fact, if I were looking for Marquees, I'd have that search saved, and I'd have gotten an email almost immediately when the guy listed it.

Do you guys actually just "browse" categories on fleaebay? If so, why?

It might have been one of the guys who got it for 500+ form the Gov Auction. The range was from about 500+(can't remember the exact number)
to 1350.

I was watching it but I decided save my cash for a new Hurly matte Screen and i want the new Oppo BD player, just not sure if I want the SE or not.

Yes, the VDC 8503 Ultra Longbow were made to be used in the Apache LongBow helicopter simulator
for the US military. The facility was being built and during that time i think VDC was working on that 9500LC Ultra that was going to have the extreme geometry controls, something like 25% keystone or something ridiculous like that. TSE was asking for us to come up with a name on AVS. I am not sure but i have a feeling the military decided to go with those instead.

But the main differences in the Longbows than a regular 8500 ultra is it came stock with
HD145 lens's(all clear) a 2.35 anamorphic squeeze ability. A few software changes either on the CLM or the HDM.
Scott gave me the info to turn them back to a regular Ultra. Some other mods on the HDM also.
and the peaking circuit on the VIM.

The 8503 was a 2004 build

PS, And if i did win it id pay you some money to stop by in Montreal and bring that down with the Ampro Wink

yeah, he had it up for sale three times before he went to a low auction price.
The first couple auctions he described it as a longbow. at 6995, then he lowered to 5995, then to 3995, and then to .01c

If he was one of the buyers for 540 then he at least got some of the money back. shipping both longbows via Yellow to the
Tonnawanda NY hub was 550 dollars.

I love some of the old electrohome Tube audio stuff, it just looks so retro. I love the Space dome LP/Radio pedistal set's. This one is the table top modle. its not tube audio but still cool looking
