|
|
I figure many of you are in the same boat I am with crt projectors accumulated over the years, too good to throw away but not worth enough to sell. I've been cleaning my basement and garage, throwing a lot of chit away and looking for better ways to store crap. Anyway I hung some Barco projectors on the wall and was really surprised with the floor space it saves. It was real easy to do. I tied a piece of channel steel to the 2 x 4's with lag screws and the bottom of a Barco projector has a rail that hangs perfectly on it.
And if I need a card out of the projector someday I can still get it out even with it on the wall.

Nicely done. I doubt my wife would allow me to have 3 "spare" projectors hangin around though.

You have to lay on your back to watch a movie when you're out in the garage, which, obviously, will lead to you passing out and catching a cold from sleeping on the concrete floor ?
I'd worry about the BNC's on the inputs being crushed when fighting them into place...

Yepp, they should be stored face down so any contaminants in the CRT's do not fall into the guns and cause shorts and other fun plasma show in the tube.

The winner !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well maybe not necessarily face down but surely not face up. Flat is good.

Another possible problem is the projector without lens covers, its hard to tell from the picture if sunlight can directly hit the front of the lenses as it placed. If it can it can fry the tubes

Athanasios | Ooops...never thought of that.
At this point I will leave as they are I think. But if I ever take them down I will hang them upside down next time. Barco has the same angle bracket on the bottom so they should hang down just as good.
