I have replaced the green tube in my 1208/2 ,after trying to get it going a few times before I realized The blue focus coil was missing its harness (DOH!) I reinstalled the harness and now when I fire up the projector it starts as normal but when I would normally hear the H/V crackle there is nothing....tube necks are lit up all the green lights are still on, no lights on the SMPS, but the red light on the V board is lit up or will light up if I try to select a source.
Anyone have any ideas for me?

Probably Hsift/EM focus board went bad, when you started projector without focus yoke cable connected. Bad Hsift/EM focus board can cause no picture.
If there is no red light on in eht board, hv boards should be ok.
