I just cannot get an image using the passthrough connection on my Lumagen vision. I have connected a BD player using the component out (don't have HDMI moome yet) set to 1080i to the VGA pass through of the vision but no picture. The projector says no source available.
I had a DVD player upscaled through the vision to 1080i using the component inputs on the vision and same on the DVD player and that worked a treat. I can connect the BD player the same way and as long as I lower the BD output to SD output levels that works but the passthrough with the BD player component output at 1080i (or any other resolution) does not. I should say there is a flash of green and then no picture and the projector then says no input source. I have not used the passthrough before so any help from a lumagen user would be appreciated.
Is there a way to get the Lumagen to display the source? When I press then menu button the source flashes quickly and disappears and the source info looks strange.

After thinking about this could it be that there is no output over component at 1080i from the BD player even though 1080i is selected as the output resolution. I did try other lower resolutions and they did not work either so I am not sure.

What kind of projector is it ? Does it have the capability to display a component signal ? The Vision doesn't process the "passthrough" in any way, according to the manual, so if your projector doesn't take component in, it won't be able to display any component signal sent through the "passthrough" on the Lumagen.
If your projector will normally display a component signal, make sure you have Pr on the VGA inputs R channel, Y on the VGA inputs G channel and Pb on the VGA inputs B channel, then choose whatever input number is for component on your projector(6 on a Barco, I think, but its been a long time, I can't remember for certain...).

I need a VGA input rather than a component input as the color space is RGBVH based on what your saying here. At the moment I have a component cable to VGA cable (no interface just a cable) plugged into the passthrough of the lumagen. I take it then that the lumagen sees a component source and if that is right my Barco will not accept a component source.
So if I add a moome box with HDMI in and VGA out this should solve the problem. Is that right??
Or I was thinking of changing my Scaler for a HDP with DVI inputs and Outputs and using that to accept a HDMI input from the BD player and connecting the DVI output from the scaler with a VGA adapter to my Barco.

Sorry to say, the Lumagen ALONE won't solve your problem. The Lumagen's DVI-I inputs will keep whatever digital copyright protection is on the input signal on the output signal. It does NOT transcode an encrypted DVI/HDMI signal to an un-encrypted analog DVI-A signal, sorry.
