Would anyone have a monitor.inf file for a Barco Graphics 808?
I am trying to force Vista to understand that my monitor can support bandwidth higher than 85hz...
I can make my monitor work perfectly at 1280x720 and at 120 hz. Powerstrip performs the proper configuration and both the Barco pj and the Powerstrip software show that is is in fact at 120 hz (actually 122hz - but who's counting). However the problem comes from either the Windows or the Nvidia control panel. It never showed more than 85hz even if the actual monitor is performing at 120hz.
(This is to have the barco projector working with Nvidia 3D Vision...)
This problem is fairly common and there was a nice procedures that described how to create your own .inf using a combination of "phoenix" software and "moninfo" to bypass the 85hz limits within Windows. It works the following way. You extract or create an EDID file with the phoenix software and save it to a .dat file. The .dat file can be read by the moninfo and you can tweak moninfo to get the proper resolution into a crafted monitor.inf file. You then update your driver info in the device manager in the monitor section and voila - brand new monitor.inf file that the Windows and Nvidia control panel can see. My problem is that I am too dumb to make a proper inf file with the correct timings.
I played quite a while with this and I can't get it to sync properly with the crafted inf file.
Does anyone already have one created? Even if it's incomplete, I could use it as a base. It would be closer than what I am trying to work with right now.
Thanks!

You can edit the file pointed to by akajester to customize it to your Barco.
This is the most important line to edit:
HKR,"MODES\2048,1536",Mode1,,"31.5-166.0,60.0-240.0,+,+"
Here you set the maximum resolution (2048x1536 here), H frequency range in kHz (31.5 to 166.0 here), V sync range in Hz (60 to 240 here), and the sync polarity. Many Barcos need negative sync; check if yours does.
You could change the strings too, so that Windows displays it as a Barco808 or whatever.
p.s. Powerstrip can create an .inf file too... you just edit the above parameters and click a button.

I ended up using power strip because I wanted to mess with porch settings.
