I have been watching a lot of movies of late in my Workshop while doing modifications and upgrades.
I started playing a movie, to find, a 4x3 TV just plain sucks now.
at a aspect ratio os 2.4, this movie looks so small.
Anyone know the movie?? No prizes
Looks like I should get another projector rather than keep using the RPTV.
Anyone else fine the same problem??
Cheers

Thanks, there is more, but I ran out of shelf space.
I have to build the shelf which is on the left side of the pic.
The movie is from Blu-ray on the TV.
My Popcorn Hour has been one of the best investments in playing back HD movies.
Cheers

I can't stomach 4x3 anymore either but I just moved up to a widescreen CRT RPTV and am thrilled. Here in the US they are a dime a dozen. Not sure how easy they are to come by where you are.

Steve,
Yeah, no kidding, nice LD collection. And that's in your shop? Your shop is nicer than some people's HT!
Hey, why does the raster look compressed vertically? It looks like the TV is set up for a 16:9 raster squeeze, and the source is outputting 16:9 as letterboxed (i.e., looks like you're getting a double-squeeze).
The picture looks right when I vertically scale the pic 133.33%.

Oh, and I measured the image on the screen to verify, and it's right at 3:1 (not including any overscan) so it's definitely not displayed in the correct AR. It's actually 75% smaller than it should be vertically, so that confirms my "double-squeeze" theory.
I had a friend with a 4:3 Sony HD set, and I remember having trouble with getting the AR right on that set, too.

I have my Popcorn set to 4x3,
otherwise the aspect ratio is completely wrong,
This is the first movie that I have seen such a small image.
I will check tonight on my main system with the same movie to see if the aspect is correct.
It is actually my workshop/gym.
I will take a better pic of the room and post it up, as I also have a 6 foot fish tank with 2x 25cm Japanese Koi.
Plus my water cooled HD Movie download computer.
So no one knows the movie?? I may maybe to up the stakes and offer a prize
Cheers
