ok I have a RuncoDTV933 I do not have the remote. But I see that i can make a cable and control the unit with a pc. Is this true or am I just smoking dope?

Yep - you can control it via a PC. Your runco is actually an NEC 6PG, so this is what you need:

I controlled my NEC XG with a PC to get it up and running - but to really dial it in you're going to want to invest in the actual remote control for it..

I have a Runco 900 here. I made the control cable but it would not work. I just ended up buying the remote.
